About Us

What do you thirst for?

The story began in 2018, when Tonya asked God a simple but life-changing question:
“God, how can I help others experience what You have given me?”

Through authentic community with others who were seeking to truly know Jesus, Tonya had discovered love, joy, value, purpose, identity and freedom—and she felt a growing desire to see others experience the same life-giving and life-changing intimate relationship with Jesus that she had found. God answered Tonya's question through a vision of the story recorded in John 4 of the Bible—when Jesus went to meet a woman at a well in Samaria. This woman was in desperate need of love, hope, joy, restoration, rescuing and refreshing. Jesus met her right where she was, at the very well she visited every day to draw water. It was an ordinary routine on an ordinary day—yet this day was different. In that familiar place, Jesus saw her, knew her, and offered her something far greater than the water she came for.

Jesus said to the Woman at The Well, “If you drink from the water that I give you, then you will never thirst again.”

Jesus offered her living water. She encountered Jesus! She was transformed by His love! And she ran and told everyone about Him!

Through this vision of Jesus meeting the woman at the well, Tonya said to her husband, "We need a well in our community - a place where people will meet Jesus and be transformed by his love and tell everyone about Him!" In that very moment, "The Well" was birthed in Tonya's heart. With open-handed prayer, Tonya and Darrin waited on the Lord to show them the next step.

In 2020, Tonya laid down her marketplace career as a Business Software Consultant to pursue this calling and start the ministry...and then the pandemic hit. But the pandemic did not catch God by surprise. He knew all along that there would be more isolation, depression, suicide, anxiety, death, divorce, division, abuse, addiction, loneliness, hopelessness, despair, church hurt, churches closing, job loss, confusion, rebellion, apathy, racism, people living in fear, and a greater need for a place like The Well.

After the pandemic, God led Darrin and Tonya to a location in South Forsyth County, GA, and brought together a team of five couples, each with unique gifts, talents, and resources, to launch The Well in May 2021. From the very beginning, God’s message was clear: “I am about the one.” Day by day, they focused on loving the one He brought in.

Drawing on his business background, nonprofit experience, and passion for BBQ, Darrin launched a monthly fundraising effort. By offering family-style meal deals, he created a simple and inviting way for the community to gather while directly supporting The Well’s mission.

In 2024, Darrin and Tonya purchased Fagan’s Biscuit Barn, a Forsyth County icon serving famous biscuits, breakfast favorites, and Southern classics for 18 years. They renamed it Feed The Well BBQ and Biscuit Barn and launched BBQ in February 2026.

God's love for the people of Forsyth County is the heart behind this ministry. The Well is a place for everyone! It is a place for all of us to come together to fill our souls with the living water and pour the water of life out to others. It is a place that fosters total wellness of the mind, body, soul and spirit through sessions, events, community partnerships, prayer and connection. The Well is often described as a safe and sacred place, where people encounter the tangible presence of God and experience His love and are healed.

The Well is a dwelling place for God. We make room for the Spirit of God to have His way in our space. We intentionally cultivate creativity and meaningful, organic experiences with God and one another.
